A Heart-of-the-Home Kitchen in Blunham, Bedfordshire

When Connie and Mick asked us to design their second kitchen, we knew this project would be something special. Set in the village of Blunham, Bedfordshire, this bespoke kitchen is more than just a beautiful space. It is a true heart of the home. Designed for family life, sociable moments, and everyday ease, this is a kitchen that reflects the people who live in it.

At Anna Clare Bespoke, it is always personal. And this one was no exception.

A Curved Kitchen Island Designed for Conversation

The centrepiece of the room is a bespoke bowed island breakfast bar, designed to seat six comfortably. The soft curve encourages relaxed conversation from end to end. No leaning in or raising voices. Whether it is breakfast with the family or drinks with friends, this island invites connection. It is a detail that speaks to how the family lives and how we design.

A Drinks Area That Makes Hosting Effortless

Just off the island, we created a bespoke drinks zone. The kind of feature that instantly elevates the space. With curved doors, a built-in CDA wine fridge, integrated wine rack, and glass storage, it is a bar that feels both elegant and useful. Whether it is a quiet glass at the end of the day or entertaining guests, this dedicated area is practical luxury at its best.

Clever Storage: From Larders to American Fridges

Storage was essential in this kitchen, and we planned every inch to work hard. A full-height pantry larder houses dried goods, cereals, and everyday ingredients, while bespoke racks inside the doors are perfect for spices, jars, and condiments. Dedicated bread and cake drawers add a layer of thoughtful detail.

Classic Feature Canopy with Concealed Extraction

Above the range sits a traditional canopy unit with soft corbel brackets and elegant framing. Inside, a concealed Westin extractor ensures top performance without compromising the aesthetic. Below, the large Rangemaster cooker anchors the cooking area with everyday reliability and timeless style.

Craftsmanship That Runs Deep

No Anna Clare Bespoke kitchen is complete without our signature drawer detail. In this project, dovetailed stained oak drawers are fitted with soft-close runners and bespoke cutlery inserts. Every component is designed with care, not just to look good but to work beautifully every single day.
